Today another person died in traffic in Austin. Our streets are dangerous. We have had 48 people die on Austin’s streets in 2015. 17 of those were people walking, one was a 16 year old boy riding a bicycle. Nationwide, over 34,000 people die in traffic every year, many of those are people walking or biking. That is the equivalent of a plane dropping out of the sky every other day, for an entire year. Other cities in the US are reducing their traffic fatalities dramatically through Vision Zero. As a community we need to make it clear these fatalities are unacceptable. These people are not statistics, they are family, friends, co-workers and children. #visionzeroATX
