Turn Austin into the cycling capital of the United States!

1.4% of Austinites commute to work by bike, In Portland its 5.9% and Amsterdam it is 46%. Why cant we be like Amsterdam?

Turn 6th street and congress into pedestrian and cycling only streets and turn the sidewalks into outdoor cafes. Focus on downtown and create an robust network of dedicated cycling lanes and encourage people to ride.

Make cycling feel safe so more people ride and not intimidated by vehicles.

Turn lanes that are currently used for parking into cycling lanes and create downtown and campus into a safe place to ride and commute.

Create a biking super highway so people can commute from various parts of Austin to the center and other parts of town safely, quickly and easily.
