What do we want to be when we grow up?
The word is out about Austin - this is the place to be. We’re growing fast, but our transportation system isn’t keeping up. We need to figure out what will make Austin livable for generations to come, be it new zoning laws, a new vision for land use and density or coming future tech. Austinites need to decide - what do we want our city to look like when it grows up?

Why does Austin allow new buildings and homes to be built that are not using solar panels and indigenous plants? Why do we continue to allow new buildings and homes to install water-sucking grass? Why do we allow new buildings…
We can't solve the transportation problem by adding new types of vehicles on the roads or crossing them. We need elevated systems. I recommend elevated trains and elevated bikeways at the link.
If a dozen houses along Mopac between 35th and 45th are restricting the mobility of Austin, why can't we just condemn those properties?
Commuter and Light Rail has the greatest chance to encourage more compact housing and human services while reducing highway construction and congestion. The article below says it all referencing Dallas / Fort Worth, Houston and Austin.
Extend 45 from I-35 to 290 and beyond. Widen 35 downtown to 10 lanes. Build another east west freeway between Ben White and 183. Make 360 a freeway with no lights. Would be a good start!
